Do you have a brain? Of course you have. If you don’t, you’re not a human being then. Animals also have a brain. What is a brain anyway? It’s spongy, soft, smooth, little thing that can store all memories for a short and long time. Is that all you know? Oh, c’mon…..lets discover many new things about our own brain.
Every second, our brain produces electric impulses (measured in micro volt) that have each frequency. Each frequency produces different brain wave. This frequency is measured in hertz. There are 4 main brain waves and some wave combinations in our daily life:
1. Beta
Divided into 3 waves: Low beta (12-15 Hz), Beta (16-20 Hz) and High beta (21-40 Hz). We use this brain wave at work, at study or to do anything that requires high concentration and thinking.
2. Alpha
Its frequency is 8-12 Hz, lower than Beta. Nowadays, this kind of brain wave is very popular among people. Alpha can produce a calm and peaceful thinking in our life. It is a gate to enter the deep hypnosis and meditation. Alpha can be entered when we are thinking ONE thing in ONE time. Alpha also could be produced when we are sitting relax and forgetting about anything else. When we are in Alpha, it’s a good condition to do visualizations and affirmations.
Have you ever remembered your dreams? If you have, it was because of Alpha.
3. Theta
It’s lower than Alpha, ranging from 4-8 Hz. This brain wave is produced when we are sleeping with dreaming. In Theta, REM (Rapid Eye Movement) occurs. When we are sleeping, all memories that carried out by Beta and Alpha are stored in this wave as a long term memory. If we could enter the Theta, we will feel a very deep meditation and calmness. A really appropriate condition that everyone is dreaming of. It’s known as “ah-ha” experience. The peak of the peak experience.
4. Delta
Ranging from 0,1-4 Hz. It occurs when we are in very deep sleep, without dreaming. Persons with a high appreciation on other people that always hear and solve their problems, just like psychiatrists, have very high frequency of Delta.
5. Spayed Beta
When we feel depressed, stress, panic, worry, and fear, our brain is in Spayed beta condition. It’s very high frequency of beta wave, no calmness occurs here.
6. Alfa Blocking
It occurs when there is no Alpha wave as a connector between beta and delta. This blocking has a high frequency of beta and but low at delta.
7. Connection
It’s almost like Alpha Blocking condition, but fortunately, alpha has come back here. When the connector between beta and delta back, we can find something that has been missing but still, something is missing.
8. Ah-ha experience
We have found that something missing in Connection condition. “Ah-Ha!!”
9. Meditation
There is no beta here. Its friends, alpha, theta, and delta are fully working to produce calmness, quietness, peace, silence, or everything that we feel on meditation. Have you felt it??
10. Awakened Mind
It is like Ah-ha experience, but little bit different on beta. We feel so focus and everything is clear.
11. Repressed content
There are beta, theta, and delta here. But, where is alpha? It’s absent. Frustration could be the effect that occurs as the result of this combination.
Thus, in every condition, our brain produces different wave that can affect our attitude and thinking. So, as the solution, just try to be in Alpha Condition, when we feel so relax. High beta is not good and also high theta and delta, if there is no balancer, alpha. Frustration, worry, anger, rage, panic etc, can be diminished when we reduce the high waves with alpha.
Alpha Condition is really good to set our goals and make the affirmations we need.
How to be in alpha condition? Let’s try another time to explain it. I don’t promise you to tell about it here. Next time, still in my blog.
